The annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) wrapped up this week, and our coverage of the New Orleans conference featured prominently on this week’s top stories list. 

Our article on the SNMMI’s Image of the Year was especially popular. An image acquired using a new immuno-PET tracer demonstrated how the peptide-based tracer could more effectively measure programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) in patients with head and neck cancers than conventional F-18 FDG. 

Other highly viewed stories from SNMMI 2025 included reports on a new Botox combo for preventing dry mouth in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), how re-treatment with Lu-177 PSMA in patients may improve outcomes in mCRPC patients, and how a PET tracer can image brain inflammation. In other developments, researchers have shown that the MR contrast agent gadopiclenol could be effectively utilized in pediatric brain MR at half the dose of gadolinium-based agent gadoterate.
