Radiology leaders have been busy advocating for policies that could benefit imaging professionals and their patients, as well as address current challenges.
Just ask Ted Burnes, director of the Radiology Advocacy Alliance Political Action Committee (RADPAC) and political education at the American College of Radiology (ACR). Burnes spoke with AuntMinnie at RSNA 2025 in Chicago to discuss achievements and observations in radiology advocacy, as well as what the ACR is looking forward to in 2026.
Burnes said the college is looking toward updates on the Radiology Outpatient Ordering Transmission (ROOT) Act and will address issues such as surprise billing, Medicare reform, and AI in medical imaging.
“There’s no shortage of stuff that we’re working on,” Burnes said.
